Capital Campaign
By now you’ve heard the news that the $1,577,272 Capital Campaign goal has been reached. Donations and outstanding pledges have now equalled the goal we set out to achieve in August of 2021. What a tremendous feat we’ve accomplished for the future of our Catholic community here at St. Francis Xavier. Having begun with $500,00 in savings, the parish was able to raise the remaining $1,077,272 in just 18 months and construction is well underway.
Thanks to all of you who found it in your heart (and in your budget) to bring the Reidy Hall renovation to life. We especially thank those of you who continue to send us your pledged donations so that we can meet our financial obligations. Over the next several months we will continue to see Reidy Hall transform before our eyes and a few months from now it will be available for all to enjoy.
On behalf of the Capital Campaign Committee, our pastor Fr. Hightower, S.J., and the St. Francis Xavier Parish staff, I thank you for your gift to our parish.
Colin McCormack
Parish Administrator and Capital Campaign Chair
Can I still help?
You sure can! While most of our construction needs have been met, we are still in need of funding for some issues that arose during construction as well as items needed to furnish the hall. It’s been determined that we will need a new water line to the city service which will require excavation across the lawn and out to the street. We also need to improve the access on the north side of the church into Reidy Hall. The service door that has been in place there for many years is not the appropriate height and has proven problematic when moving goods in and out of the hall. This has become increasingly obvious during construction. This project will require opening up the existing space, putting in new concrete steps, and installing a secure door.
Additionally, we will need to furnish the hall upon completion. Those items include tables, chairs, as well as linens. We would like to purchase a washer and dryer for the use of the kitchen volunteers and also need to supply our kitchen with new utensils, plates, cups, serving dishes, and cookware. There are other needs such as shelving, custodial equipment, and supplies that will all need to be purchased for our new space. Should you wish to help with any of these items, please continue to contribute to the Capital Campaign online or send your donation to the parish office to the attention of Katy McKinnon, our bookkeeper. Thank you!
