Social Justice Ministry / Family Ministry and Marriage Preparation
Welcome to St Francis Xavier Social Justice Ministry!
Because we see Christ in the faces of all of our sisters and brothers, our ministry provides outreach to people beyond our faith community, to those folks in the Missoula area who are in need, but often to those just passing through as well. The members of the parish family here at SFX are rich in compassion and generosity and it my honor to be on staff here as social justice coordinator.
Although I live in the Bitterroot valley, I am happy to call St Francis Xavier my home. In fact, I was married in this church in 1979 – my husband and I have raised three Montana natives!
There are many opportunities to volunteer your time and talent. Please contact me if you are interested in more information on how you can be part of “faith doing justice” here at St Francis Xavier.
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter —
when you see the naked, to clothe them” Isaiah 58:6-7
