Director of Music
I am thrilled to join the Saint Francis Xavier staff as Director of Music. I have been a member of SFX for over ten years and I am so happy to now have the opportunity to share my love for liturgical music with our parish. I look forward to guiding our SFX community toward a deeper understanding of the Liturgy and a more meaningful connection to the Mass, as well as to one another, through wider participation as Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Sacristans, Ushers, and Musical Ministers.
This is my eleventh year as Professor of Oboe & Music Theory in the School of Music at the University of Montana. I also serve as the Principal English horn player in the Missoula Symphony Orchestra. My professional degrees are from the University of Washington (Doctor of Musical Arts in Oboe Performance), the University of Colorado-Boulder (Master of Music in Oboe Performance), and Central Washington University (Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance). I am proud to be a Yamaha Performing Artist and enjoy performing both nationally and internationally. After ten years of teaching in the Midwest, I accepted the position at UM so that my husband Brian and I could move to my native state of Montana to be closer to family – and to the mountains! We are so grateful to have the opportunity to raise our children Carmen (11) and Samuel (8) in this wonderful community.
