Liturgy and Music

“The parish is where the Church lives. Parishes are communities of faith, of action, and of hope. They are where the Gospel is proclaimed and celebrated, where believers are formed and sent to renew the earth. Parishes are the home of the Christian community; they are the heart of our Church. Parishes are the place where God’s people meet Jesus in word and sacrament and come in touch with the source of the Church’s life.”

(Communities of Salt and Light, p. 1)

Welcome to all those interested in Liturgical Ministries!

St. Francis Xavier parish has a vibrant worship community united through the Eucharist. We hold daily mass at 8:00am Monday through Friday, weekend masses Saturdays at 5:00pm, and Sundays at 8:00am, 10:00am and 6:00pm, and many other special celebrations throughout the year.

In addition to the ordained ministers there are roles in the liturgy which are exercised by lay people who place their time and talent at the service of the liturgical assembly.(USCCB)   At St. Francis Xavier Parish, liturgical ministry is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your baptismal call of service to one another.  Whether participation “behind the scenes” preparing and planning or through a public role of service within the Mass, parishioner contributions help our liturgies to be truly life-giving celebrations.  Please consider joining one of these ministries.
