For several weeks now the last classroom on the first floor of the Loyola Center has been undergoing a renovation. Divided, covered in paneling and topped off with a false ceiling, this classroom has been long overdue for restoration. St. Francis Xavier Parish Facilities Steward Ron Brown did most of the demolition over several weeks with help from parishioner John Williams and Parish Administrator Colin McCormack. In the process huge pocket doors were uncovered that once opened into the front classroom which was long ago converted to bathrooms and storage. The room’s plaster has been restored and new drywall has covered the ceiling and two of the four walls. Now comes the paint and trim so stay tuned!  Look for the photos on facebook.
