Greetings and welcome to Saint Francis Xavier Parish & Faith Formation!

We have enough volunteers but only God knows if we have everyone! These programs exist to serve God’s people, not the other way around. How are you being called to grow in faith, hope and love? With whom will you share your witness to Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection? Is it your turn to bring snacks? Children’s Liturgy of the Word – 2017-2018 Theme: What Language Does God Speak?  Every Sunday, Sept. 3rd to June 24th  with dismissal from in front of the altar at the 10:00 am mass before the Gospel is read. All little ones, and their grown-ups, are welcome!

 

Religious Education for K-5th grade Sundays in the Loyola Center(2nd building to the West of church)  9:00 to 9:50 am. Get ready to sing and pray and learn! (I don’t know what the kids will be doing while the adults do that, but come find out!)  Important Dates:  Sept 24, Oct 1 Blessing of Animals!, Oct 8, Oct 15, Oct 29, Nov 5, Nov 12, Nov 19, Dec 3, Dec 10, Dec 17, Jan 21, Jan 28, Feb 4, Feb 11, Feb 25, March 4, March 11, March 18, April 8, April 15, April 22, April 29, May 6

 

Preparation for First Reconciliation & First Eucharist This is usually around 2nd grade – but all are welcome! Please, help me know if you or your child have special needs and we will do everything we can to meet them. Third Tuesday of MOST months (see calendar) 6:00 – 7:00 pm Loyola Center (2nd building to West of church).  Important Dates:  Sept 19, Oct 17, Nov 14 (2nd Tuesday), Dec 11– First Reconciliation 6:00 pm, Dec 12 – Follow up on First Reconciliation (this is a change from the first version), Jan 23 (4th  Tuesday), Feb 20, March 20, April 17April, May – TBD First Communion, May 15th

 

Middle School Youth Group, Sundays 9:00 to 9:50 am, Loyola Center.  I hear they sometimes have donuts on a string. I love youth group.  Important Dates:  Sept 24, Oct 1, Oct 8, Oct 15, Oct 29, Nov 5, Nov 12, Nov 19, Dec 3, Dec 10, Dec 17, Jan Retreat TBD, Jan 21, Jan 28, Feb 4, Feb 11, Feb 25, March 4, March 11, March 18, April 8, April 15, April 22, April 29, May 6

 

High School Youth Group, Meets most Sunday nights, 7:30 pm. We could all meet at the Loyola Center or your house! Sometimes we meet up with youth from other churches. And about once a month we go do stuff. Once a month we take a weekend off. Don’t worry about it. We’ll just send you a text. HMU 926-9797

 

Confirmation. Generally meets once a month on Sunday, times vary.  Please, before the first meeting: 1) fill out and return a registration FORM, 2) get your baptismal record, 3) select a sponsor (can’t be a parent) and 4) call me if you have any problems completing #1-3. Organizational email goes out Oct. 1st at that time I will have exact dates for you.

Confirmation Dates to keep in mind:

First Meeting: Oct 15th 3:00 p.m. must bring your sponsor, Loyola Center

Confirmation Overnight Retreat: Nov 10th & 11th, Location TBD

Confirmation Ceremony: TBD by Bishop’s office. Usually in May.
